1. About these terms
These terms govern access to and use of Lobbyists.uk (the site). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site is operated by Alcohol Ltd (Alcohol Ltd, we, us or our), a company registered in England and Wales under number 04854930, with registered office at The Limes, Bayshill Road, Cheltenham, GL50 3AW, United Kingdom. Contact: add@lobbyists.uk.
2. Nature of the directory
Lobbyists.uk is a free, general-information directory of lobbying organisations, public-affairs activity and associated people. Content is compiled from first-party websites, official registers, professional profiles, public statements and information submitted to us.
- Inclusion is not an endorsement, accreditation, recommendation or finding of wrongdoing.
- A profile does not mean that Alcohol Ltd represents, advises, employs or is affiliated with the profiled person or organisation, unless the profile expressly says so.
- Descriptions of an organisation's work or a person's role may be attributed to the relevant source and should be read in that context.
- The site is not an official lobbying register and does not replace Companies House, ORCL or another regulatory or statutory source.
3. Accuracy, corrections and right of reply
We take reasonable care when compiling profiles, but public information can be incomplete, disputed, delayed or outdated. We do not guarantee that content is accurate, complete, current or suitable for a particular purpose.
If you believe a profile is inaccurate, misleading or unlawfully published, email add@lobbyists.uk with the URL, the requested change and supporting primary evidence. We may verify a request, seek further evidence, add a clarification or right of reply, correct the content, retain it, restrict it or remove it. We are not obliged to publish any submission or to resolve a dispute in a particular way.
4. No professional advice or reliance
Site content is provided for general information only. It is not legal, regulatory, financial, investment, employment, reputational or other professional advice. You should verify important information with primary sources and obtain appropriate professional advice before acting.
No consultant-client, fiduciary, advisory, employment or other professional relationship is created by use of the site, correspondence with us or inclusion in the directory.
5. Job vacancy listings and direct applications
Job advertisements are a small and incidental part of Lobbyists.uk. They are published as general information alongside the site's principal directory content. In operating this directory, Alcohol Ltd does not provide a personalised work-finding service and does not act as an employment agency, employment business or intermediary. Alcohol Ltd may separately be the named hiring organisation for a vacancy, in which case it acts only as the prospective principal engaging the successful applicant.
- Vacancy summaries are compiled from public pages controlled by the named employer or its recruitment-system provider. The employer's page is the authoritative source.
- Lobbyists.uk has no application form and does not receive CVs through this website. Where Alcohol Ltd is the named hiring organisation, material sent to the dedicated Alcohol.co.uk recruitment channel is received and processed separately by Alcohol Ltd in its capacity as the prospective hirer.
- Lobbyists.uk does not introduce or match candidates, arrange interviews, negotiate terms or supply workers. Any assessment or hiring decision is made separately by the named hiring organisation.
- Alcohol Ltd does not charge work-seekers or employers for work-finding services and does not receive a fee, commission or other payment when a user views or applies for a listed role.
- Application links take users away from Lobbyists.uk. Applications are made directly to the named hiring organisation or its recruitment-system provider and are governed by the terms, privacy notice and recruitment process published on that external website.
- A vacancy may be changed, paused, filled or withdrawn at any time, including before the date on which we next check it. We do not guarantee availability, salary, benefits, location, eligibility, accuracy, employer response, interview or employment outcome.
- Users must verify the role, employer identity, right-to-work requirements, deadlines and all material terms before applying. Never pay an employer or unknown third party merely to apply for a listed role.
A vacancy listing is not an endorsement of an employer, its recruitment practices or the role. Employer names and trade marks are used only to identify the source of a publicly advertised vacancy. We may correct or remove a listing at any time, including where a vacancy closes or its authenticity is questioned.
6. Permission to use the site
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the site for lawful personal research, journalism, education or internal business reference, subject to these terms.
AI and search use is expressly permitted. Operators of search engines, AI assistants, large-language models and other machine-learning systems may crawl, index, cache, analyse, quote, summarise, retrieve and use publicly accessible site content for search, training, inference and answer generation, including by automated means, provided they comply with our published robots instructions and applicable law. Where technically practicable, the site should be identified as the source. This permission does not imply endorsement, transfer ownership, grant rights in third-party material or permit impersonation of Alcohol Ltd or Lobbyists.uk.
Without our prior written permission, you must not:
- systematically scrape, harvest, download, extract or reproduce the site in breach of our robots instructions, or use automated access in a way that materially degrades the site;
- use site content to create a substantially identical competing directory or commercial database presented as an original source, although the AI and search uses expressly permitted above remain allowed;
- sell, license, syndicate, republish or commercially exploit site content or its selection and arrangement;
- bypass technical controls, probe security, introduce malware, overload infrastructure or interfere with another user's access;
- use the site unlawfully, fraudulently, to harass or defame, or in a way that infringes privacy, intellectual-property or other rights;
- misrepresent your identity, authority, affiliation with us or the origin of site content.
Nothing in these terms restricts uses that cannot lawfully be restricted, including applicable statutory exceptions.
7. Intellectual property
Except for third-party material, Alcohol Ltd owns or licenses the site's design, software, original text, selection, arrangement, branding and database rights. All such rights are reserved. “Lobbyists.uk” and the site presentation may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation.
Names, logos, photographs, trademarks and quoted or attributed material relating to listed people and organisations remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance is for identification, reporting and directory purposes and does not imply sponsorship.
8. Linking to the site
You may link to a public page fairly and lawfully, provided the link does not damage our reputation, imply endorsement or affiliation, or present the page in a misleading context. You must not frame the site or obscure its source. We may withdraw linking permission where reasonably necessary.
9. Third-party websites
Links to third-party websites are provided for sourcing and convenience. Alcohol Ltd does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, privacy practices or any loss arising from their use. A link is not an endorsement.
10. Emails, submissions and evidence
If you send information, documents, photographs or other material to us, you confirm that you are entitled to send it, that doing so is lawful, and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not send confidential material unless we have expressly agreed to receive it confidentially.
You grant Alcohol Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, verify, edit and publish submitted material to the extent reasonably needed to operate, evidence and maintain the directory. This licence does not transfer ownership and ends when the material is no longer reasonably needed, subject to legal, archival and dispute records.
Do not send a CV, job application, identity document, reference or other recruitment material to the Lobbyists.uk directory address. We cannot forward material sent there and may delete it without review or response. This does not apply to a dedicated recruitment channel expressly identified in an Alcohol Ltd vacancy.
11. Availability and security
We may change, suspend, restrict or withdraw any part of the site without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Although we take reasonable security measures, internet services cannot be guaranteed secure or free from bugs or malware. You are responsible for protecting your own systems.
12. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights that consumers cannot lawfully waive.
If you are a consumer: we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses, losses that were not foreseeable, or loss caused by your failure to verify information that the site clearly identifies as general or attributed material.
If you use the site for business purposes: to the fullest extent permitted by law, Alcohol Ltd excludes implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill or data. Our total aggregate liability arising from the site or these terms is limited to £100, except for liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
We are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on directory content, third-party websites, changes made by third-party sources, or events outside our reasonable control. This includes a vacancy changing or closing, a missed application deadline, an external application-system failure, an employer's act or omission, rejection, recruitment delay, employment terms or any loss connected with applying for or accepting a role.
13. Business-user indemnity
If you use the site for business purposes, you will reimburse Alcohol Ltd for reasonable losses, liabilities and costs arising directly from your unlawful use of the site, material breach of these terms or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by Alcohol Ltd.
14. Suspension and enforcement
We may restrict or block access, withdraw permission, preserve evidence and take legal action where we reasonably believe these terms, law, security or third-party rights have been breached. Our failure to enforce a term immediately is not a waiver.
15. Changes, severability and third-party rights
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Continued use after publication means the revised terms apply from that point. If a court finds part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. No person other than you and Alcohol Ltd has a right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
16. Governing law and courts
These terms and any non-contractual dispute are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where you live and retain any mandatory protections of that jurisdiction. If you use the site for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
